Ken Hassler has agreed to join the coaching staff at Matthews USA Soccer Club. Coach Hassler is currently the Head Coach of the Men’s soccer team at Pfeiffer University.
Ken Hassler is in his fifth season as men’s head soccer coach at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte. Last season under Hassler’s guidance, the Falcons went 10-7-1 with an appearance in the Conference Carolinas tournament semi-finals. Three of his players were named All-Conference last year, as well as four being named NCAA Division II Men All-Southeast Region.
Prior to joining Pfeiffer, Coach Hassler coached at Alfred University in New York, where he led his team to a 2003 NCAA III National Tournament bid and to a top 10 regional ranking. Hassler was named Coach of the Year for the Empire Eight Athletic Conference in 2001 and 2003. His soccer teams won the Empire Eight Athletic Conference Championship in 2001 and 2003, were ranked in the regional top 10 in 2000, 2001, and 2003, and received the Conference Team Sportsmanship Award in 1997 and 2000.
Coach Hassler is a graduate of Plymouth State College where he was a four-year standout for the Panthers and a Hall of Fame inductee. He also has his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and NSCAA National Diploma and serves as an associate staff member to the NSCAA.
