Matthews USA Team Up With Sports Nutrition and Sports Pyschologist Experts

TNT Matthews USA announced today that they will work alongside Total Nutrition Technology and Sports Psychologist Nori Pennisi. The partnerships will enable all players in the club to seek specialist help in their respective areas and improve performance physically and mentally.

Total Nutrition Technology develop specialized programs that focus on diet, lifestyle, activity levels, and many more ways to enhance performance. They focus on custom designed meal plans, pinpoint the timing of meals, understand what fuel is best for your body, and pre-plan meals and snacks. Having worked with many professional athletes, they are very experienced in specialized team and individual programs.

Nori Pennisi has her M.S. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Exercise and Sport Science specializing in sport psychology. She has expertise in parental influences on youth sports and how participation in sports influences one’s mental development. She received a B.A. in psychology and a B.A. in physical education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked with collegiate and high school-level athletes and coaches on motivation, team building and mental skills. She also has experience consulting with individual athletes as well as teams, focusing on helping athletes improve their performance through mental skills training. In addition to doing consulting work, she currently teaches tennis to all ages.

Girls Director of Coaching Gary Curneen is delighted with the partnerships. “We are focusing on developing the total player here at Matthews USA and that includes lifestyle and mentally aspects also. Matthews USA are unique in a sense that we are now offering these resources to our players and to have TNT and Nori Pennisi as a resource for our players is a fantastic opportunity. The mental and physical aspects cannot be overlooked today and I believe that not only will our players benefit, but also our parents and coaching staff.”
