MUFC Summer Training Schedule
Summer training is just around the corner!  Click here to see all the training available for Mecklenburg Union FC players over the summer.  This summer’s schedule includes speed and agility training, coerver training to improve individual ball control and goalkeeper training.  Training starts Monday June 9th at McKee Rd Park and will continue on Mondays and Thursdays.  We have also adjusted the schedule to move the Inter-Club scrimmages to August.  Please contact DOC Chip Wiggins with any questions.
Club Name Announcement

Mecklenburg Union Futbol Club                       

We are pleased to announce that effective May 31st, 2008, Matthews USA Soccer Club will be changing its name to "Mecklenburg Union Futbol Club" with the initials MUFC.  This name change better identifies the markets we serve in Mecklenburg and Union County. 
 
From Executive Director Gary Hamill:
"I am extremely excited about the future of our club. Our name change is yet another example of the club’s commitment to providing a quality experience for our members.  It gives us more individual identity in both the counties we serve."
 
From Board of Director’s Member Kevin Kelley:
"Having our club name represent the communities we serve is the right thing to do for our members. The changes and hard work of the BOD and our soccer staff is becoming more evident every day as we strive to build one of the top soccer clubs in the region."

Mecklenburg Union FC Joins Forces with adidas International Training Program

Mecklenburg Union FC through it’s partnership with adidas and the adidas International Training program has developed a unique relationship with some of the world’s top youth academies. This working relationship is provided through the “adidas International Training Program” and allows selected MUFC youth teams, players and coaches the opportunity to play, train and learn under the auspices of some of the world’s top professional youth academies.
Ken Hassler Joins Coaching Staff

Ken HasslerKen Hassler has agreed to join the coaching staff at Matthews USA Soccer Club. Coach Hassler is currently the Head Coach of the Men’s soccer team at Pfeiffer University.
 
Ken Hassler is in his fifth season as men’s head soccer coach at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte. Last season under Hassler’s guidance, the Falcons went 10-7-1 with an appearance in the Conference Carolinas tournament semi-finals. Three of his players were named All-Conference last year, as well as four being named NCAA Division II Men All-Southeast Region.
 
Matthews USA Team Up With Sports Nutrition and Sports Pyschologist Experts

TNTMatthews USA announced today that they will work alongside Total Nutrition Technology and Sports Psychologist Nori Pennisi. The partnerships will enable all players in the club to seek specialist help in their respective areas and improve performance physically and mentally.
